Ron Goldstein has been practicing intellectual property law since 1987, including experience as the Vice President, Patents and Licensing for Pharmacopeia, Inc., where he was responsible for the company’s patent portfolio, as well as the negotiation of collaborative research and license agreements with a total "BioWorld" value of more than $250 million dollars. Previously, Ron was the Corporate Patent Counsel for Sepracor, Inc. where he was responsible for all patent prosecution, out-licensing and patent infringement litigation. Ron is a member of the New Jersey Bar, New York Bar, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to his legal career, Ron worked as a chemical engineer at Celanese Chemical Company. Ron received Bachelor of Science Degrees in Chemical Engineering and in Biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Ron’s legal practice includes patent prosecution, due diligence, opinion work and licensing in technology areas such as combinatorial chemistry, molecular biology, high-throughput screening, biological assays and reagents, molecular modeling and informatics for both start-ups and multinational corporations. Ron also has represented numerous small companies in transactions to establish research and technology collaborations with larger companies and universities.
